Welcome to EnduranceWriting.com, where writing is more than just a bunch of words on a big stack of paper. It's a group thing!
The goal of this group is to help get writers (myself included)
from Point A to Point Z of a writing project with the least amount of
pain and suffering possible! Or, at the very least, with the quickest amount
of pain. Like ripping off a Band-Aid. Zzz-zzzip!
Uh-huh. I know what you're thinking. So, how is this different from
all those other "finishing your book" activities out there? How is this
really going to help ME?
Hmm... Well, okay. Since you asked, I guess the main way it's different is that Endurance Writing focuses on the process of "getting it done," more than the actual end product that comes out of it--your book. We're not concerned with content or your overall page count or word count goal so much as we are with getting you to participate in the group writing events that will help you get there.
Sure--manuscript length, plot details, and the formatting, revision, and editing of your finished product are important as well. Nay, very important! But taking that first step (finishing your draft) can sometimes feel like the hardest part, and we want to help you get therethere. You'll be surprised at what you can accomplish in a relatively short amount of time.
I guess our approach is sort of like... well, picture a group of really friendly, supportive writerly-type folks all holding hands while running a 50-yard sprint, with that chain of linked hands holding strong to make sure that everyone gets across the finish line... except that as soon as they finish that sprint, they choose a new finish line just up ahead and take off running for that one... and they repeat this process again and again and again... until ultimately, lo and behold, they've run a marathon!
Come sprint with us.
Try it. You just might like it!
ATTENTION PUBLISHED MEMBERS! Want to promote your works on our site? E-mail me your cover art and a few lines about your book (or any associated upcoming events, book signings, etc.) and they will be posted here, on a rotational first-come/first-served and space-available basis.

NEED A NEW BOOK TO READ? We now have an Amazon.com aStore for the Endurance Writing group, where you can browse through and/or purchase works written by our very own members! Members, if you have published works that haven't yet been included in our aStore, just let me know. I'd love to get them added!
E.W.--It's not just for Yahoo IM anymore! :) Endurance Writing now has a group presence in the wild, wonderful, willy-nilly world of Second Life (SL), where a visual buffet of imagination stimulation awaits... and where opportunities to connect with other writers in cyberspace present themselves on at least a weekly basis, if not more.
New to SL and wondering how this virtual creative medium could benefit your own writing career? Make this helpful blog the first stop on your research path. It's chock-full of information on the benefits of SL to writers, as well as some must-have advice and links to several newbie guides to help get you started in this very large and initially somewhat overwhelming virtual world.
The Endurance Writing group now has a Second Life chat group! The group is free and currently open to enrollment, so if you happen to be in SL, please feel free to join us, and use the group chat to link up with other members for fun-filled wordsprints and comraderie in-world.
Looking forward to seeing a lot of new faces join us on the grid for WordSprints!
